Guest speaker Haydon Bailey: A Talk on the Chalk – Recent and Ongoing Geological Work in the Ver Valley.

For our June meeting, we welcome Haydon Bailey who is an expert on the chalk landscape of Hertfordshire and has a particular interest in the Ver Valley. What’s more, there has been a great deal of recent investigation into the geology of the Chilterns and the chalk aquifer. It’s a fascinating topic which greatly influences the River Ver and Haydon will reveal all!

The evening will open with short reports on the state of the Ver including the quality of its water and the wildlife that inhabits the river corridor. After a short break for refreshments, we’ll hand over to our guest speaker.
