John, aka The Surprised Eel Historian, takes a light-hearted look at the medieval eel economy of St Albans and beyond. A medieval historian with a PhD in Medieval Studies from Cornell University, he’ll be joining us live from the USA to talk about one of his passions – the cultural history of eels in England from the tenth to the seventeenth centuries.
